If it's a gift and you will leave the gift message window empty then the inside of the box will be left empty too. (in case you want to write a message there urself!)
 
If you want to write the gift message by yourself make sure to prepare a white pen. I personally use Posca paint markers, the one with the fine tip is great for this.
